I’ve always been the person who steps in when things start getting messy.

Not because I like control — but because I like things to make sense.

I trained as an architect in Italy, where precision is expected and materials are taken seriously, and I learned early that good design is as much about restraint as it is about expression.

Much of my working life has unfolded between countries, workshops, and ways of working — moving between drawings spread across a table, conversations that start on site and finish somewhere else, and decisions taken with a pencil in one hand and a phone in the other.

I’ve rarely fitted neatly into a single role.
I care about proportion and atmosphere, but also about timing, tolerances, and whether something will still make sense months later, when it arrives on site — and years later, when it has stood the test of time.

Over time, I realised that what I enjoy most isn’t adding ideas, but helping the right ones survive — by asking the awkward question at the right moment, noticing the detail that doesn’t quite add up, and keeping projects moving when they risk stalling under their own weight.

Studio Mallick exists because this way of working needed a home. The studio came later. The instinct was always there.

I take the work seriously, but I try to bring calm — and occasionally humour — into the process.

Good projects don’t need more noise.
They need someone paying attention.
